Eat Like a Bear!


Consumers today have fallen for almost every type of diet fad in order to lose weight. Fad diets vary widely with their intake of protein, fat, & calories, having little or no substantiation of their safety or effectiveness.

Whenever my body is feeling sluggish or my skin is looking tired, what do I do? I eat like a bear!

 

Bears like to eat salmon and berries. When combined, these are two of the most powerful and sustaining foods in the world. The protein and Omega-3’s that you get from fresh wild salmon are second to none. Salmon contains about 25 grams of protein per cup, about 1,500mg of Omega-3 fatty acids, and supplies vital nutrients such as Vitamin B-6, Vitamin B-12, Vitamin D, Vitamin A, Selenium, Iodine, Magnesium, & Potassium. Sockeye salmon also contains Astaxanthin, one of the most powerful antioxidants ever discovered. Salmon is truly a super food! Be sure to only buy wild caught fresh salmon (Pink, Sockeye, King) and stay away from Atlantic, as they tend to be exclusively farm raised and possibly GMO. Farm raised/GMO salmon not only lacks the vital vitamins and nutrients, but it could be putting you and your family in danger since the GMO varieties have not been fully validated for long term health and safety.

 

What do bears love more than Salmon? Berries! Specifically, blueberries. Bears in the spring and summer months can eat 30,000-200,000 blueberries a day! This is because they are loaded with powerful antioxidants and nutrients that can provide vital energy and sustain them through hibernation. Blueberries contain a unique profile of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and phytonutrients, which are ideal for total health and longevity. They are potent free-radical scavengers that work with the body’s defense system to keep everything in balance.

Salmon and blueberries paired together provide the perfect ideal combination of protein, healthy Omega-3 fat, vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients. There are some protocols where salmon and blueberries can be eaten exclusively for one week in order to provide a total system reboot and give a dramatic difference to your skin and appearance (beauty from within).

 

Eating like a bear is a perfect meal plan that is not complicated and very straight forward. You can bake, grill, broil, or even eat salmon straight out of a can and get creative with seasonings and spices to mix things up. Add a little salt, lemon, garlic and capers and it's ready to go. Feel free to add a balanced green (spinach, asparagus, broccoli) to have a more complete dinner meal.
