Is Your Family Showering in Chemicals?
When buying and remodeling our new home, one thing that was at the top of our priority list was to add a whole house water filtration system.
Most of the water supply here in the United States is contaminated and compromised with sediment, silt, rust, fluoride, chlorine, heavy metals, trace pharmaceuticals, viruses, bacteria, and more. The nations water supply has been heavily polluted over the last several decades. Massive amounts of chemicals are dumped into our water supplies and toxic hard core prescription pharmaceuticals are being found and tested at record high levels across the country.
In America, we consider pure water to be something that is a right and not a privilege, however, we now face the reality that it is actually a luxury to have clean and pure water for you and your family. Most people are aware of drinking pure water from a bottle or small refrigerated filtration source, but they ignore the fact that they are absorbing huge amounts of contaminated water on a daily basis just by taking a shower. When bathing and showering, your body is like a big sponge. When the water is hot and creates steam, all of the unfiltered chemicals can be absorbed quickly into your system. Chemicals such as chlorine, ammonia, and fluoride are just a few of the main chemicals used in the water districts “filtration/sterilization” process.
When thinking about my little one, it became even more critical to have access to clean water provided for my whole house. I did not want to bathe her or brush her teeth with water full or nasty chemicals.
After doing some intensive research, my husband and I decided that installing a whole house water filtration system would be most effective and actually more affordable than we thought.
There are many types of whole house filters out there to choose from. When looking for a whole house water system it’s important to know what to look for:
Easy to install (most systems will need a plumber and knowing that it’s an easy system application will keep your plumbing costs down for installation and labor fees). NSF/UL approval is an important quality certification for well-made industrial strength products that can be trusted to last and perform. Water softener/Carbon filtration, UV, and pre & post filtration. Having the whole house water system is something that my body could actually taste, smell, and feel the difference. I would recommend it for all.
