Chamomile Teething Popsicles
As someone who gave my baby nothing except breastmilk for the first year of their life, I was super picky about what seemed safe enough to put in my little one's body. All of the teething medicines on the market either are controversial or just don't work, so I decided to make my own.
Why chamomile? Chamomile is one of my favorite herbs. Chamomile is both safe and effective. It has great calming effects and used for many ailments for babies, children, and adults.
These two chamomile teething solutions are what my daughter absolutely loves for her little gums:
Chamomile Popsicles- Steep 4 teabags of organic chamomile tea every 8oz. of boiling water for 30 minutes. Pour tea into popsicle molds and freeze. *For children over 12 months old, you may add one drop of organic clove oil into the mixture once it is warm for a slight numbing effect.
Chamomile Frozen Washcloths- Instead of pouring the brewed tea mix into popsicle molds, a great alternative is to soak up the solution with cotton washcloths and then freeze overnight in the freezer.
My daughter loves the feel of chewing on the frozen cloth to soothe her inflamed gums.
Most importantly, a teething baby needs lots of love, nursing, and snuggles!
